Design for Reliability Studies
The most critical time for determining the inherent reliability for an asset or equipment item is during its design. Decisions taken during this phase can have significant long term impact on the performance of the asset and therefore the business.
Undertaking a DFRS using a combination of techniques such as those listed here to facilitate the selection of the most “appropriate” option for the intended operating context can avoid the institutionalization of inherent reliability problems.
